Sports Injuries

Sports injury encompasses a large area of medical concerns, many related to muscular-skeletal conditions. It includes problems that result from physical training and competitive sports. It was and still is one of the primary means of healing for the martial arts. Acupuncture has shown to be an effective treatment for sports injuries.  Depending on the type and extent of injury, it has been used to help reduce pain, increase range of motion, increase recovery and healing time, and strengthen weakened parts of the body.

Our clinic offers a variety of treatment options for the following list of common sports injuries: Low back strain and pain, Plantar fascitis, Bursitis, Tennis elbow, Golfer's elbow, Frozen shoulder, Acromioclavicular (AC) joint pain, Rotator cuff tendonitis, Osteoarthritis of all joints, Knee pain, Ankle sprain, Shin splints, Tendonitis, and Trigger finger

Kinesio Taping

Our clinic offers kinesio taping to help with pain due to injury. The Kiesio taping association states that, "The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion." For over 25 years kinesio taping has been used by both ameture and professional athletes in the U.S. and world-wide.

Injuries should be properly assessed by a doctor before any type of acupuncture treatment can begin. If you are unsure about your injury, it is best to get examined and properly diagnosed by your doctor to rule out a more serious injury. Acupuncture should soon begin after an injury for the best results.
